Quad Biking in Essaouira - Beach, Cap Sim Dunes and Full Day

Quad rides for groups and families from the ranch in Diabat, just south of Essaouira. After a safety briefing, the rental contract and a short driving test, you follow your guide along the Ksob river and out to the long wild beach that runs south of the city. Choose your ride and your quads when you book. The one-hour ride follows the beach and the small dunes to a fishing village and the freshwater springs where semi-wild animals come to drink, then returns on a track between the dunes and the forest, with views of the old Portuguese fort and Mogador island. The two-hour ride heads south past the Omar dunes and a seasonal fishing village, where you may well be invited for tea, to the great dunes of Cap Sim: a sea of sand facing a sea of waves, with the lighthouse behind you. On the Ksob river you can stop the engines to watch migratory and resident birds. The three-hour ride adds the Cave, a natural shelter on an outstanding viewpoint where you can stop for a Moroccan mint tea above the ocean, and returns through the mimosa and eucalyptus forest on a sheltered track behind the dunes. The full day continues past the wind farm of Ouessen, with a view over the bay of Sidi Kaouki, down to lunch in a typical local restaurant, then back through the forest past the Portuguese fort and the palace of the Sultan.
