About this experience
Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga, is Morocco's best-known sand sea, with dunes up to 150 metres high close to the Algerian border. This private tour drives there from Agadir across the Anti-Atlas, through Ouarzazate and the Dadès and Todgha gorges. You spend two nights in a desert camp at the foot of the dunes, with a sunset camel trek, time on the dunes and optional quad or 4x4 rides. Merzouga is about 11 to 12 hours from Agadir by road, so the first and last days are long driving days.

Meeting Point
Itinerary
Drive east via Taroudant and Taliouine across the Anti-Atlas, with a stop at Aït Benhaddou. Night in Ouarzazate.
Through the Dadès valley and the Todgha gorge, then on to Merzouga. Camel trek at sunset and night in the desert camp.
Sunrise on the dunes, free time, an optional quad or 4x4 ride, and a second night in the camp.
A long drive back via Rissani, the Draa valley and Ouarzazate, arriving in Agadir in the evening.
Important Information
This is a long road trip: Merzouga is about 11 to 12 hours from Agadir, so day 1 and day 4 are long driving days. Desert nights are cold from November to March, so bring warm clothes, and use strong sun protection on the dunes.
